Vinyl Windows – Toronto

We replaced the windows in this Toronto home with vinyl double hung windows. We call this type of double-hung window a “cottage split”. This refers to the smaller upper sash height. The cottage split is more common than equal-sized sashes for this age of the home. The upper sashes have SDL (simulated divided lite) grilles.
If you look closely, you may notice that the third-floor windows have a full screen while the other windows have half-height screens. We prefer the half screen for looks, but the full screen allows you to open the upper sash for ventilation.
We also replaced the front door with a fiberglass door where we sandblasted the number on the glass. These are some of the custom techniques Fieldstone and our network of partners can create to make one’s home unique. For a close view see the photograph below.
